TDK Ventures is seeking a highly experienced talent acquisition professional to provide full cycle recruitment for high level strategic roles. As a top tier Corporate Venture Capital (CVC), TDK Ventures will provide recruitment as a service for only the highest level executive and technical positions within our portfolio companies. You will utilize your many years of recruitment strategy and hands on recruiting experience to fill crucial roles that will help to ensure the success of our portfolio companies. TDK Ventures’ industry focus areas include Renewable Energy, Materials Technologies, Cleantech, Industry 5.0, Mobility, Computing & Connectivity. This is an exciting opportunity to work with an award-winning, top-tier CVC fund in Silicon Valley while partnering with early stage deep-tech startups. TDK Ventures continues to pioneer corporate venturing with “TDK Goodness” to entrepreneurs in the deep-tech space. Currently, TDK Ventures is investing with $200M AUM and is backed by TDK Corporation – a Japanese electronics conglomerate.
Reporting to the President, the Recruitment Principal will work closely with the TDK Ventures portfolio of entrepreneurs to strategize on key executive and technical positions to ensure they are prepared to have the right people in place at the right time. You will seek to understand their technologies and solutions and support the development of effective talent acquisition strategies and execute on them while applying, knowledge, experience and a deep network in the technology sectors. This position’s responsibilities will include but are not limited to:
Full cycle recruiting as a service for top technical and executive positions at assigned portfolio startups
Partner with entrepreneurs, learn their business plan, technology roadmap, product timelines, their short and long-term needs, and help to develop a strategic hiring plan
Develop innovative recruitment strategies and manage the end to end hiring activities of assigned entrepreneurs, delivering an efficient and effective service to all involved in the hiring process.
Advise and serve as a trusted advisor to entrepreneurs throughout the search process, providing regular updates and high touch experiences
Develop and document TDK Ventures’ strategic recruitment service offering to create boundaries, efficiencies and collaborations that can be repeated, adapted and scaled across our portfolio companies
Coach and guide hiring managers from our portfolio companies on Talent Acquisition related best practices, processes, interviewing/assessment strategies and tools
Conduct on-going market research and analysis to develop effective sourcing strategies, providing market intelligence to the business as required
Prepare, present, negotiate, and close competitive job offers partnering with entrepreneurs, investment team and BODs as appropriate
Select and leverage recruiting technology to find, track, and share candidate intelligence<
Monitor and ensure all pre-onboarding requirements are met
Capture key learnings and apply them to continuously improve the TDK Ventures’ recruitment service offering and share best practices with entrepreneurs and the wide corporate venturing ecosystem
10-20 years of combined talent acquisition experience, with a minimum of 5 years of hands-on executive search and placement of senior technical leaders
Uncompromised customer service, consistently delivering 7 star white glove services
A technical undergraduate degree is highly desired and PhD degree or equivalent in a technology related field is preferred
Deep, hands-on recruitment experience in technical fields such as Physics, Electrical Engineering, Materials Sciences, Chemical Engineering with a proven professional track record
Ability to assess leadership capabilities and functional skills in candidates, demonstrated effective listening and questioning skills
Deep sourcing, interviewing, assessment and selection experience
Superior interpersonal and negotiation skills, and ability to build strong partnerships with leaders and stakeholders at all levels
Meticulous attention to detail and follow through, analytic ability to draw and document useful insights that can produce actionable results.
Demonstrated ability to work independently and to manage and handle multiple tasks of an urgent nature, while ensuring a professional level of tact and diplomacy
Excellent written and verbal communication skills in the English language
Superior work ethic, accountability, team mentality and uncompromising personal integrity
